Hi! My name is Kayra 𐙚 ‧₊˚ ⋅
Rooted in personal and cultural narratives, my work explores identity, tradition, and innovation with diverse mediums. Whether it's sharing the experiences of young immigrants living as Third Culture Kids or highlighting global issues like media censorship and the regression of women's rights, I am determined to use my art to provoke thought and inspire change.
I have worked as a Design and Graphics editor for my school’s newspaper, iPatriotPost, written articles for Ms. Magazine, Yale Daily News, Youth Civics Initiative and am currently a writer for the Teen Magazine, hoping to reach a broader audience.
Most recently, I have interned as a Docent at the Nova Southeastern Art Museum, led the teen curatorial team for the exhibitions “Memory Soup” and “(Un)Natural Selection,” serving on the Teen Board.
My goal is to foster a connection between people through art. I am the President for my school’s National Art Honor Society. Leading 45+ members, I was able to initiate Young Masters, a student-led program to promote the arts within the lower school through various activities such as origami.
Thank you for listening, I hope my art is able to inspire you as well 🌊⋆。𖦹 °.🐚⋆❀˖°🫧
